Press Release: Take the Family gives back to other
families
28 September 2004
Takethefamily.com, the one-stop family travel website, will give £1
from every holiday sold on its website to help less fortunate families.
Recently voted best new website by Web User Magazine, Take the Family
has teamed up with the Family Holiday Association which helps give families,
who are unable to have a holiday, a much-needed break.
Founding partner Andy Cook said: “Thousands of families in Britain
can’t have a holiday at all. Some simply can’t afford it
while others miss out due to disability, bereavement, abuse, depression
and long-term illness. Every year the Family Holiday Association (FHA)
enables some of these families to take a much-needed break. It seemed
natural for Take the Family to associate itself with this charity and
help in any way we can.
“We will be giving £1 from every holiday we sell on Take
the Family to the FHA. It’s less than the price of a cup of coffee
at the airport terminal but it can make a big difference to those who
need it.”
The FHA is the only charity in the UK that specialises in helping provide
holidays for families and children in need. Since its launch in 1975,
the FHA has helped over 90,000 parents, children and young people to
have a holiday. This year they expect to help over 1,000 families who
otherwise would not have been able to have a holiday. Unfortunately,
they will also have a waiting list of over 800 families that they will
be unable to help.
