Press Release: The secret of the perfect family holiday “Get
rid of the kids!”
22 February 2006
Kids Clubs have soared in popularity with a vast majority of parents
now happy to use them to get a little holiday peace and quiet, according
to a new survey.
86% of parents have admitted they use kids clubs at hotels and resorts
with more than one in three prepared to dump the kids in one for 5 hours
or more.
A whopping 7% say they are happy to see “virtually nothing of
their kids on holiday” taking advantage of the kids club facilities
all day every day.
Just over 1 in 10 said no to holiday childcare, preferring to look after
their kids themselves.
"It says a lot about the pressure working parents are under these
days,” said Lucy Ace, managing director of leading family travel
website www.takethefamily.com.
"Parents are looking for a rest on holiday. And more and more
are telling us that means kids clubs. They can relax knowing their kids
are being looked after by qualified professionals. And to be honest,
kids enjoy them more.
"They can meet new friends and have organized fun rather than pestering
Mum and Dad to come and play all the time. With kids clubs, everyone’s
a winner.
"It sounds a little cruel, but for parents it might just mean snatching
a quick hour to read a book or enjoy other things they never get time
for back home!”
"It’s supply and demand. At www.takethefamily.com
we’re noticing kids clubs are becoming more extensive with more
activities available at an increasing number of destinations.”
Over 800 parents took part in the survey at takethefamily.com

one of the UK’s four Luxury Family Hotels or the Treehouse at
the Sandy Lane in Barbados. Mark Warner and Club Med have great reputations,
partly because of their kids clubs and smaller operators on our list
of favourites, with a dedicated family friendly portfolio, include Esprit,
