In the largest range of forested mountains in Central Europe, on the border with the Czech Republic, Bavarian Forest holidays offer spacious, beautifully modernised 'full service' holiday apartments, ideal for families, in 3 neighbouring houses on the edge of the village of Bayerisch Eisenstein. The friendly owners live in Haus Sterr, so are on hand to help. Each apartment has an extensive guide folder, (in English), plus maps and guides, and other goods are also on sale in their on site shop.
Price
from 90 to 150 per apartment (for apartments sleeping 2-6), or from 40 to 75 per apartment (for apartments sleeping 2), per night for 2 people, with an additional charge of 5 each per extra person per night.
Prices include bedlinen and towels, final cleaning, tourist tax and essential supplies including your 1st day's breakfast. For bookings of 3 nights or less, there is a 35 per apartment linen/cleaning charge.

apartments are in 3 neighbouring houses. There are 5 family apartments with 2-3 bedrooms sleeping 4-6, plus 4 one bedroom apartments. Facilities in all houses are available to all guests. These include, a guest shop (with food, drinks and toiletries, an ice machine and free flour, sugar, herbs and spices), sports equipment, outdoor or indoor table tennis, mountain bikes, pool table and darts, WiFi/internet PC, DVDs, CDs, library, sauna, in summer garden, terrace and barbecue, an orchard for sitting out, with a small children's play area. For younger guests there is a full range of baby equipment available as well as a selection of toys. Each house also has a parking area. Facilities
village facilities include, restaurants, cafes and pizzeria, serving food all day and evening for most of the year, children's adventure playground, mini-golf, tennis and football pitch close to house, railway museum with engines to climb on, glass making demonstrations and opportunties to try making glass and bread, good train and bus transport from the vllage. In the area: Summer - walking and cycling, 2 swimming complexes with 30 minutes drive, high wire parks, archery, summer toboggan runs, kayaking and pedaloes, cable car trip up the Arber mountains, theme park, animal parks and zoos, and horse riding.
Winter Sports - alpine and cross country skiing (lessons from 3 years old), snowboarding, tobogganing, snow shoe walking, skating. Further afield activities: boat trips on the Danube, castles, visit Regensburg, Passau, Prague, Salzburg, smaller towns and countryside in the Czech Republic. Fun events for families include - village festivals with oompah bands and children's fun fairs, medieval festivals including mock battles, sword fights and dragon slaying! *Note that Christmas markets start from late November/early December. Little shuts except on Christmas Eve evening, so you'll have no trouble booking your Christmas lunch on the day itself. Location
on the edge of the village of Bayerisch Eisenstein yet close to all amenities. Bayerisch Eisenstein is about 10 hours driving time from Calais - the same as the South of France - and 2 hours by car, slightly longer by train, from Munich, Nuernberg, Prague, Salzburg or Linz airports. Or catch the train from London after an early breakfast and eat dinner in Bayerisch Eisenstein!
