Why
Talloires is a haven of peace sitting on the eastern shore of Lake Annecy. This small town, just 15 minutes from the town of Annecy, has a great reputation as a base for activities and a centre of gastronomy.
The area is rich in history and has all of the modern amenities needed to ensure that everyone in the family has a varied and enjoyable holiday.

When
The main summer season is relatively short and runs from early June through to late September. Temperatures in July and August are typically in the high twenties and you can expect plenty of sunny days. Colder and wetter alpine weather can, however, occasionally roll down from the surrounding hills.
August can be busy as the Annecy area is very popular with French holidaymakers. July, however, sees some of the best weather and can be relatively peaceful.
How
There are numerous flights in to Geneva from a variety of UK airports and low cost car hire can be pre-booked. The drive to Talloires is a little over an hour.
Alternatively the resort is approximately eight hours drive from Calais. Almost all of this is autoroute and there are plenty of reasonably priced hotels en-route if you want to break the journey.
Do
Water sports are one of the key attractions in Annecy and adults and children alike can try their hand at sailing, windsurfing, diving, rowing and waterskiing. Mountain sports, including mountain biking, canyoning and climbing are also available.
The mediaeval centre of Annecy is well worth exploring and numerous attractive alpine resorts are within easy driving distance.
Eat
A buffet breakfast and four course evening meal can be taken in the Hotel le Lac’s restaurant or on the terrace and there a large number of restaurants in the area catering for all budgets. The world famous Pere Bise is just a few footsteps away if you decide to treat yourselves.
Cost
Prices for the Hotel Le Lac vary between £622 and £634 per adult with child prices staring at £469 and going up to £483. These prices include ferry crossings and are for half board accommodation. Activities typically cost around £20 to £30 each.
